Test 40B - Repairing Courtesy Lamp System & Power Supply

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Using DRB, actuate courtesy lamps. If courtesy lamps illuminate, go to step 6). If courtesy lamps do not illuminate, go to next step.
  2. Using DRB, stop courtesy lamps actuation. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Bone connector. BCM is located behind right kick panel. Go to next step.
  3. Using DRB in voltmeter mode, check voltage on BCM Bone connector terminal No. 19 (Pink wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Pink wire. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  4. Using DRB in voltmeter mode, check voltage on BCM Bone connector terminal No. 12 (Yellow wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, replace BCM. If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to next step.
  5. Disconnect inoperative lamp assembly. Using DRB in voltmeter mode, check voltage on courtesy lamp assembly connector (Pink wire). If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair open Yellow. If voltage is less than 10 volts, repair open Pink wire.
  6. Using DRB, stop courtesy lamp actuation. Open left front door. Using DRB, read left front door ajar switch status. If DRB displays LFDOOR AJAR CLOSED, replace body control module. If DRB does not display LFDOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to test 43A.
