Test 43A - Repairing Left Front Door Ajar Circuit

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Disconnect left front door ajar switch connector. Check left front door ajar switch connector ground strap for damage or corrosion. Repair ground strap as necessary. If ground strap is okay, go to next step.
  2. Connect jumper wire between left front door ajar switch connector (Tan wire) and ground. Using DRB, read left front door ajar switch status. If DRB displays LFDOOR AJAR CLOSED, replace left front door ajar switch. If DRB does not display LFDOOR AJAR CLOSED, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect jumper wire. Gain access to Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located behind right kick panel. Connect jumper wire between BCM Gray connector terminal No. 6 (Tan wire) and ground. Using DRB, read left front door ajar switch status. If DRB displays LFDOOR AJAR CLOSED, repair open Tan wire. If DRB does not display LFDOOR AJAR CLOSED, replace BCM.
