Diagnostic Procedure: Notes

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1993 Dodge Dynasty, 1993 Chrysler New Yorker Fifth Avenue, 1993 Chrysler New Yorker, and 1993 Chrysler Imperial. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Before proceeding with diagnosis, certain precautions must be followed. See PRETEST INSPECTION  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.

Diagnostic test procedures are designed to detect system faults as quickly as possible. Body fault codes are accessed through CCD bus diagnostic connector. See Figure . Chrysler's Diagnostic Readout Box-II (DRB-II) is used to access information from CCD bus diagnostic connector.

A 1993 diagnostic program cartridge, DRB-II, body diagnostics cable, hand-held oil pressure gauge, jumper wires, and digital volt/ohmmeter will be needed for testing. Proceed to TEST 1A: IDENTIFYING VEHICLE EQUIPMENT & SYSTEM PROBLEMS (IDENTIFYING VEHICLE EQUIPMENT & CCD BUS COMMUNICATION PROBLEMS on AC and AY bodies).

Ensure self-diagnostic tests apply to vehicle being tested. When system problem is identified according to customer's complaint, perform diagnostic test indicated.
