Initialization & Verification

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1993 Dodge Dynasty, 1993 Chrysler New Yorker Fifth Avenue, 1993 Chrysler New Yorker, and 1993 Chrysler Imperial. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

An initialization procedure, included in VTA system, requires that vehicle record 20 engine cranking cycles before allowing VTA module to function. For this reason, VTA system requires verification. To verify VTA system, perform the following: Open driver's door (all others closed). Remove ignition key. Lock doors with power door lock switch. Close driver's door. If VTA system SET light flashed system is armed and operational. If not, 20 engine cranking cycles have not occurred or there is a problem with VTA system.
