Test 34C - EIC Switch Operation

NOTE:

IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Use DRB to monitor EIC TRIP switch status. If DRB displays TRIP ODO : CLOSED, replace instrument cluster. If DRB does not display TRIP ODO : CLOSED, go to next step.
- Press TRIP button on instrument cluster. If DRB does not display TRIP ODO : CLOSED, replace instrument cluster. If DRB displays TRIP ODO: CLOSED, go to next step.
- Use DRB to read EIC US/M switch status. If DRB displays US/METRIC : CLOSED, replace instrument cluster. If DRB does not display US/METRIC : CLOSED, go to next step.
- Press US/M button on instrument cluster. If DRB does not display US/METRIC : CLOSED, replace instrument cluster. If DRB displays US/METRIC : CLOSED, go to next step.
- Use DRB to read EIC RESET switch status. If DRB displays TRIP RESET : CLOSED, replace instrument cluster. If DRB does not display TRIP RESET : CLOSED, go to next step.
- Press RESET button on instrument cluster. If DRB does not display TRIP RESET : CLOSED, replace instrument cluster. If DRB displays TRIP RESET : CLOSED, replace body control module.
