Test 46D - Repairing Illuminated Entry Short To Ground

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR  IDENTIFICATION. For wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Black connector. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. Put DRB in ohmmeter mode. Measure resistance at BCM Black connector terminal No. 7 (White wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace BCM. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  2. Remove left door panel. Disconnect illuminated entry switch harness connector. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. Measure resistance at illuminated entry switch connector terminal No. 2 (White wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace left door illuminated entry switch. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  3. Remove right door panel. Disconnect illuminated entry switch harness connector. Check, clean and repair connections as needed. Measure resistance at illuminated entry switch connector terminal No. 2 (White wire). If resistance is more than 5 ohms, replace right door illuminated entry switch. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in White wire.
