Test 1A - Identifying Vehicle Equipment & System Problems

- Connect DRB-II to Data Link Connector (DLC). Connector is located under instrument cluster, next to center console. If DRB-II is not operational, refer to VEHICLE COMMUNICATIONS TESTS .
- If DRB-II is operational, turn ignition on. Using DRB-II, select body system. If DRB-II does not display BUS OPERATIONAL, refer to VEHICLE COMMUNICATIONS TESTS. If BUS OPERATIONAL is displayed, go to next step.
- Using DRB-II, select body controller. If DRB-II displays NO RESPONSE, go to TEST 53A . If DRB-II does not display NO RESPONSE, go to next step.
- Using DRB-II, select Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) system. If DRB-II displays NO RESPONSE, go to TEST 18A. If DRB-II does not display NO RESPONSE, go to next step.
- Using DRB-II, select Overhead Travel Information System (OTIS) module. If DRB-II displays NO RESPONSE, go to TEST 15A . If DRB-II does not display NO RESPONSE, refer to TEST 1A DIAGNOSTIC TEST DIRECTORY table for specific diagnosis.
NOTE:
Diagnostic TEST 16A through TEST 25G are related to manual A/C-heater or Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) system. Test procedures for manual or automatic A/C-heater systems may be found in AIR CONDITIONING & HEATING.
