Test 43E - Open Courtesy Lamp Switch Circuit

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform TEST VER-1 after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Turn courtesy lamp dash switch to ON position. Using DRB, read courtesy lamp switch status. If DRB displays COURTESY SW CLOSED, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located behind right kick panel. If DRB does not display COURTESY SW CLOSED, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect headlamp switch 8-pin connector from behind switch. Connect jumper wire between courtesy lamp switch 8-pin connector terminals No. 2 (Black wire) and No. 3 (Yellow/Red wire). Using DRB, read courtesy lamp switch status. If DRB displays COURTESY SW CLOSED, replace courtesy lamp dash switch. If DRB does not display COURTESY SW CLOSED, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect jumper wire. Connect jumper wire between headlamp switch 8-pin connector terminal No. 3 (Yellow/Red wire) and ground. Using DRB, read courtesy lamp switch status. If DRB displays COURTESY SW CLOSED, repair open Black wire. If DRB does not display COURTESY SW CLOSED, go to next step.
  4. Disconnect jumper wire. Access BCM connectors. Connect jumper wire between chassis ground and BCM Gray connector terminal No. 11 (Yellow/Red wire). Using DRB, read courtesy lamp switch status. If DRB displays COURTESY SW CLOSED, repair open Yellow/Red wire. If DRB does not display COURTESY SW CLOSED, replace BCM.
