Test 69A - Identifying Power Door Lock Problems
- If vehicle is equipped with Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) go to TEST 78A. Diagnostics for power door locks on vehicles not equipped with RKE are separated into 9 categories. Verify failure(s) or customer complaint and ensure vehicle is experiencing failure(s) or complaint at this time. Go to next step.
- Lower both front door windows. Close all doors. Lock and unlock doors from both front door switches. If doors lock and unlock properly, go to next step. If doors fail to lock or unlock properly, see DIAGNOSING POWER DOOR LOCK CIRCUIT table below, and perform appropriate test.DIAGNOSING POWER DOOR LOCK CIRCUIT
Problem Perform TEST All Doors Fail To Lock & Unlock From Any Switch 70A All Doors Fail To Lock & Unlock From One Switch 71A All Doors Fail To Lock From Any Switch 72A All Doors Fail To Lock From One Switch 73A All Doors Fail To Unlock From Any Switch 74A All Doors Fail To Unlock From One Switch 75A One Door Fails To Lock & Unlock From Any Switch 76A - Turn ignition off, but leave key in ignition switch. Open left front door. Lock doors from either switch. If doors lock, go to TEST 7A. If doors do not lock, and vehicle is equipped with speed sensitive locks, go to next step. If vehicle is not equipped with speed sensitive locks, system is operating properly. Perform TEST VER-1B.
- Drive vehicle with all doors closed and unlocked. Reach a speed of 15 MPH. If doors fail to lock, go to TEST 77A. If doors lock, system is operating properly. Perform TEST VER-1B.
