Test 104D - On/Off (Intermittent) Wiper Motor Relay & Control Circuit

NOTE: For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, see appropriate article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE:
  1. Remove jumper wire. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage on on/off (intermittent) wiper relay connector terminal "A" (Dark Blue wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to TEST 104F  . If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  2. Access Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located behind right kick panel. With BCM connectors connected, connect a jumper wire between BCM bone connector terminal No. 1 (Dark Green/Yellow wire) and chassis ground. If wiper motor operates, replace BCM. If wiper motor does not operate, go to next step.
  3. Leave jumper wire connected. Remove on/off wiper relay. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between on/off relay connector terminal "C" (Dark Green/Yellow wire) and chassis ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace on/off wiper relay. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open Dark Green/Yellow wire.
