Engine Controls - System/Component Tests - 3.3L: Introduction
NOTE:
For system and component testing procedures of components applicable on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) models, see the SYSTEM/COMPONENT TESTS - 3.3L (CNG)
article.
Before testing separate components or systems, perform procedures in the BASIC TESTING - 3.3L (GASOLINE) article. Since many computer-controlled/monitored components set a diagnostic trouble code if they malfunction, also see the TESTS W/CODES - 3.3L article.
NOTE:
Testing individual components does not isolate short or open circuits. Perform all voltage tests with a Digital Volt-Ohmmeter (DVOM) with a minimum 10-megohm input impedance, unless stated otherwise in test procedure. Use ohmmeter to isolate shorted or open wiring harness.
