On-Bench Testing

  1. For bench testing, a 12-volt power source is needed. Connect a jumper wire between 12-volt power source and terminal No. 5 of 13-pin connector. Connect a second jumper wire between 12-volt power source and terminal No. 8 of 10-pin connector. Connect a third jumper wire between ground and terminal No. 3 of 13-pin connector.
  2. Turn defogger on. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 of 10-pin connector. If battery voltage does not exist, replace control switch. If battery voltage exists, turn defogger off. If battery voltage still exists, replace timer relay. See Figure .
