Test 104D - On/Off (Intermittent) Wiper Motor Relay & Control Circuit

NOTE: For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER  section in this article. Perform TEST VER-1  VERIFICATION TEST after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Remove jumper wire. Using scan tool in voltmeter mode, check voltage at on/off (intermittent) wiper relay connector terminal "A" (Dark Blue wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to TEST 104F. If voltage is 10 volts or greater, go to next step.
  2. Access Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located behind right kick panel. With BCM connectors connected, connect a jumper wire between BCM bone connector terminal No. 1 (Dark Green/Yellow wire) and chassis ground. If wiper motor operates, replace BCM. If wiper motor does not operate, go to next step.
  3. Leave jumper wire connected. Remove intermittent wiper relay. Using an external ohmmeter, check resistance between intermittent relay connector terminal "C" (Dark Green/Yellow wire) and chassis ground. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace intermittent wiper relay. If resistance is 5 ohms or repair open Dark Green/Yellow wire.
