Test 84B - Incorrect Ambient Temperature Reading

NOTE: For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER  section in this article. Perform TEST VER-1  VERIFICATION TEST after each repair.
  1. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Bone and Gray connectors. BCM is located behind right kick panel. Using scan tester in ohmmeter mode, check resistance at BCM Bone connector terminal No. 15 (Gray/Tan wire). If resistance is less than 500 k/ohms, repair Gray/Tan wire for partial short to ground. If resistance is 500 k/ohms or greater, go to next step.
  2. Using scan tester in ohmmeter mode, check resistance at BCM Gray connector terminal No. 10 (Violet/Light Green wire). If resistance is less than 500 k/ohms, repair Violet/Light Green wire for partial short to ground. If resistance is 500 k/ohms or greater, go to next step.
  3. Using external ohmmeter, check resistance between BCM Bone connector terminal No. 15 (Gray/Tan wire) and BCM Gray connector terminal No. 10 (Violet/Light Green wire). If resistance is less than 500 k/ohms, repair Violet/Light Green wire for short to Gray/Tan wire. If resistance is 500 k/ohms or greater, replace BCM.
