Power Door Lock Test 14A - Liftgate Key Cylinder Arm Switch Failure
NOTE:
Perform POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 1B
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Clear trouble codes as needed. Using scan tool, read liftgate zone switch voltage. If LIFTGATE ZONE SWITCH voltage is about 4 volts, inspect liftgate key lock. Replace key lock as needed. If LIFTGATE ZONE SWITCH voltage is not about 4 volts, go to next step.
- Turn liftgate key cylinder switch to lock position and observe voltage on scan tool. Do not hold key in unlock position for more than 7 seconds or code will set. If LIFTGATE ZONE SWITCH voltage is about 4 volts, go to next step. If LIFTGATE ZONE SWITCH voltage is not about 4 volts, replace liftgate key cylinder switch.
- Operate liftgate key lock cylinder several times from unlock to lock position. Release key lock cylinder. With key lock cylinder in neutral position, observe scan tool voltage. If LIFTGATE ZONE SWITCH voltage is about 5 volts, system is currently functioning correctly. If LIFTGATE ZONE SWITCH voltage is not about 5 volts, replace liftgate key cylinder switch.
