Door Ajar Test 8A - Shorted Liftgate Ajar Circuit
NOTE:
Perform DOOR AJAR TEST 1A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE

CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
- Remove liftgate panel. Disconnect liftgate ajar switch. Using scan tool, read liftgate ajar switch status. If scan tool displays LIFT GATE AJAR SWITCH: CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool does not display LIFT GATE AJAR SWITCH: CLOSED, replace liftgate ajar switch.
- Disconnect Central Timer Module (CTM) 18-pin connector "B". CTM is located behind right kick panel. Using an external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and CTM 18-pin connector "B" terminal No. 15 (Tan/Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Tan/Black wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace CTM.
