Door Ajar Test 8A - Shorted Liftgate Ajar Circuit

NOTE: Perform DOOR AJAR TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - VERIFICATION PROCEDURE  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Remove liftgate panel. Disconnect liftgate ajar switch. Using scan tool, read liftgate ajar switch status. If scan tool displays LIFT GATE AJAR SWITCH: CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool does not display LIFT GATE AJAR SWITCH: CLOSED, replace liftgate ajar switch.
  2. Disconnect Central Timer Module (CTM) 18-pin connector "B". CTM is located behind right kick panel. Using an external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and CTM 18-pin connector "B" terminal No. 15 (Tan/Black wire). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Tan/Black wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace CTM.
