Test TC-50D: Trans 3-4 Solenoid/ Trans Relay Circuits
NOTE:
Perform TEST TC-50A: TRANS 3-4 SOLENOID/ TRANS RELAY CIRCUITS before proceeding. For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For component location and for appropriate wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
- Repair 3-4 shift solenoid control circuit for short to voltage and perform TEST VER-5A: ROAD TEST FOR OBD-II TROUBLE CODES on AB body, or TEST VER-2A: ROAD TEST VERIFICATION on all other bodies. Connect all disconnected connectors and go to next step.
- Road test vehicle and reach a speed of 50 MPH. Depress Overdrive (OD) switch 4 times so that vehicle attempts to shift from fourth gear to third gear and back. If vehicle does not shift between third and fourth gear, replace PCM and perform TEST VER-5A: ROAD TEST FOR OBD-II TROUBLE CODES on AB body, or TEST VER-2A: ROAD TEST VERIFICATION on all other bodies. If vehicle shifts between third and fourth gear, test is complete.
