Instrument Cluster Test 15B - Oil Pressure Switch Sense Open Circuit
NOTE:
Perform INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TEST 15A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS
. Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - BODY VERIFICATION TEST
.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Disconnect oil pressure switch. See Figure in INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TEST 15A. Connect jumper wire between ground and terminal No. 1 (Gray wire) on oil pressure switch harness connector. If oil pressure warning light illuminated, replace oil pressure switch. If oil pressure warning light is not illuminated, go to next step.
- Disconnect instrument cluster. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at terminal No. 10 (Gray wire) on instrument cluster Blue 10-pin connector C2. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace instrument cluster. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Gray wire.
