Power Door Lock Test 18A - DECKLID Release Motor Output Failure

NOTE: Perform POWER DOOR LOCK TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - BODY VERIFICATION TEST  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Disconnect decklid release motor connector. Using scan tool, erase DTCs. Cycle ignition switch off, then on. Using scan tool, read DTC's. Wait 30 seconds. While monitoring scan tool, press and hold decklid release switch for 30 seconds. If decklid release motor output DTC reset, go to next step. If decklid release motor output DTC is not reset, replace decklid release motor.
  2. Remove Body Control Module (BCM) from junction block. BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure in CHIME TEST 2A. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 8 (decklid release control) on junction block 20-pin internal connector. If resistance is less than 50 ohms, repair decklid release control circuit for short to ground. If resistance is 50 ohms or greater, replace BCM.
