Exterior Light Test 2B - Headlight Switch Input Failure

NOTE: Perform EXTERIOR LIGHT TEST 2A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - BODY VERIFICATION TEST  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Disconnect headlight switch 13-pin connector. Read headlight switch voltage. If scan tool displays HEADLIGHT SWITCH VOLTAGE: 5 volts, replace headlight switch. If scan tool does not display HEADLIGHT SWITCH VOLTAGE: 5 volts, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Black 24-pin connector C2. BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure in CHIME TEST 2A. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 12 (Yellow wire) on headlight switch harness connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Yellow wire for short to ground. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace BCM.
