Windshield Wiper Test 11A - Wipers Operate In With Switch In Off Position

NOTE: Perform WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - BODY VERIFICATION TEST  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) Black 24-pin connector C2. BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure in CHIME TEST 2A. If wipers stop, repair Dark Green/Red wire (wiper switch MUX signal) between wiper motor and terminal No. 8 on BCM Black 24-pin connector C2 for short to battery voltage. If wipers still operate, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect BCM Bone 12-pin connector C3. If wipers stop, replace BCM. If wipers still operate, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect wiper ON/OFF relay from Power Distribution Center (PDC). See Figure in WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 2A. PDC is located in engine compartment. See Figure in INSTRUMENT CLUSTER 4B. If wipers stop, repair Red/White wire (wiper ON/OFF relay control circuit) between ON/OFF relay and terminal No. 4 on BCM Bone 12-pin connector C3 for short to ground. If wipers still operate, repair Red/Yellow wire (wiper HI speed output circuit) or Brown/White wire (wiper LO speed output) between wiper HI/LO relay and wiper motor for short to battery voltage.
