Windshield Wiper Test 4A - Wiper On/Off Relay Control Circuit Shorted High

NOTE: Perform WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform, after each repair, VERIFICATION TEST VER-1A - BODY VERIFICATION TEST  .
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Remove wiper ON/OFF relay from Power Distribution Center (PDC). See Figure in WINDSHIELD WIPER TEST 2A. PDC is located in engine compartment. See Figure in INSTRUMENT CLUSTER TEST 4B. Turn ignition on. Place wiper switch in LOW speed position. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal "C" (Red/White wire) on ON/OFF relay socket. If voltage is one volt or less, replace wiper ON/OFF relay. If voltage is greater than one volt, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) from junction block. BCM is mounted to junction block located behind left end cap of instrument panel. See Figure in CHIME TEST 2A. If voltage is one volt or less, replace BCM. If voltage is greater than one volt, repair relay control circuit for short to battery.
