Test 2B - No Response From Air Bag Control Module

NOTE: For connector terminal identification see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION  . For wiring diagrams, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Perform VERIFICATION TEST VER-1  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition off prior to disconnecting any module connector.
  1. Turn ignition on. Using external voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and fuse No. 22 (Dark Blue/White wire). If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Dark Blue/White wire between ignition switch and fuse No. 22. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  2. Disconnect battery and wait 2 minutes. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and component side of fuse No. 22 (Light Green/Yellow wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or more, go to step 4). If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect Air Bag Control Module (ACM) 23-pin connector. Measure resistance between ground and fuse No. 22 (Light Green/Yellow wire). If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace fuse and ACM. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair Light Green/Yellow wire between fuse and ACM for short to ground and replace fuse.
  4. Disconnect battery and wait 2 minutes. Disconnect ACM 23-pin connector. Using external ohmmeter, measure resistance of Light Green/Yellow wire between fuse No. 22 and ACM 23-pin connector terminal No. 14. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, replace fuse and repair open Light Green/Yellow wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  5. Reconnect ACM connector. Turn ignition on. Replace fuse No. 22. Go to TEST 1A of AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article for further testing.
