See Figure . Install lower ball joint stud into steering knuckle. Install ball joint to steering knuckle attaching nut. Tighten attaching nut to a torque of 160 N m (118 ft. lbs.).
NOTE: When installing adjustment cams be sure hole in adjustment cams is located at 12 O'clock. DO NOT tighten cam adjustment bolts at this time.
  2. After tightening nut to specified torque, continue to tighten until cotter pin can be installed through nut and hole in ball joint stud, DO NOT LOOSEN NUT. Install cotter pin through nut and stud of lower ball joint. On ACR shocks, install spacers on each side of lower mounting eye. Install shock absorber into mounting bracket on lower control arm. Install shock absorber to mounting bracket bolt and nut.
  3. On ACR vehicles, remember to install special washers on both sides of mount before installing bolt. Do not tighten mounting bolt at this time. Install stabilizer bar link into mounting hole on lower control arm. Install stabilizer bar attaching link nut. Tighten stabilizer bar attaching link nut to a torque of 17 N.m (150 INCH lbs.). Install brake rotor on hub/bearing.
  4. Install brake caliper on steering knuckle. Install brake caliper attaching bolts and tighten to a torque of 115 N.m (85 ft. lbs.). Align brake hose bracket with hole in steering knuckle. Install hub/bearing attaching bolt. Tighten hub/bearing attaching bolt to a torque of 61 N.m (45 ft. lbs.). Install wheel and tire. Tighten wheel mounting stud nuts in proper sequence until all nuts are torqued to half specification. Repeat tightening sequence to full specified torque of 122 N.m (90 ft. lbs.).
  5. Lower vehicle to ground level. Position vehicle on an alignment rack or drive-on hoist. Ballast (weight) vehicle to correct design height. Tighten shock absorber lower mounting bolt to a torque of 135 N m (100 ft. lbs.). Remove ballast (weight) from vehicle. Correctly jounce vehicle letting it return to its curb height. Measure vehicle's curb height. Align vehicle per service procedure listed in Wheel Alignment.
NOTE: Following wheel alignment, remember to tighten lower control arm cam bolts and nuts to specified torque of 102 N.m (75 ft. Ibs.).
