VIN Mismatch, Rolling Code Failure & EEPROM Failure

NOTE: Perform SKIS TEST 1A  before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-1A  after each repair.
CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
  1. Using scan tool, erase SKIM DTCs. Start engine 20 times. Using scan tool, read DTCs. If EEPROM FAILURE DTC is present, replace SKIM and perform SKIM INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE . If EEPROM FAILURE DTC is not present, go to next step.
  2. Start engine and allow to idle for 3 minutes. Read SKIM DTCs. If VIN MISMATCH DTC is set, go to SKIS TEST 4A . If ROLLING CODE DTC is set, go to SKIS TEST 10A . If neither of above DTCs are displayed, system is currently functioning correctly.
