VIN Mismatch, Rolling Code Failure & EEPROM Failure
NOTE:
Perform SKIS TEST 1A before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification and wiring diagrams, see
BODY CONTROL COMPUTER - INTRODUCTION article. Perform VERIFICATION TEST: VER-1A after each repair.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting or connecting any module connector.
- Using scan tool, erase SKIM DTCs. Start engine 20 times. Using scan tool, read DTCs. If EEPROM FAILURE DTC is present, replace SKIM and perform SKIM INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE . If EEPROM FAILURE DTC is not present, go to next step.
- Start engine and allow to idle for 3 minutes. Read SKIM DTCs. If VIN MISMATCH DTC is set, go to SKIS TEST 4A . If ROLLING CODE DTC is set, go to SKIS TEST 10A . If neither of above DTCs are displayed, system is currently functioning correctly.
