Automatic Door Locks Do Not Lock Over 15 MPH
- Using scan tool, select BODY SYSTEM, then BODY COMPUTER. Scan tool will perform a CCD bus test. If scan tool displays NO RESPONSE, go to BATTERY POWER TO MODULE DISCONNECTED OR NO RESPONSE FROM BCM under COMMUNICATIONS. If scan tool displays a bus failure message, perform appropriate bus failure test under COMMUNICATIONS . If scan tool does not display NO RESPONSE or any bus failure messages, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, select SENSOR DISPLAY and read ignition voltage. If scan tool displays less than 10 volts, go to BATTERY POWER TO MODULE DISCONNECTED OR NO RESPONSE FROM BCM under COMMUNICATIONS. If scan tool displays 10 volts or more, go to next step.
- Ensure all doors are closed. Drive vehicle at more than 15 MPH. If doors locked when speed reached 15 MPH, system is functioning properly at this time. Fault may be intermittent. If doors did not lock when speed reached 15 MPH, go to next step.
- Using scan tool, read auto door lock status. If scan tool displays AUTO DOOR LOCKS ARE ENABLED, go to next step. If scan tool does not display AUTO DOOR LOCKS ARE ENABLED, using scan tool, enable door locks and retest system.
- Ensure driver's door is closed. Using scan tool, read DR DOOR AJAR SWITCH status. If scan tool displays, DR DOOR AJAR: OPEN, go to next step. If scan tool does not display DR DOOR AJAR: OPEN, go to SHORTED DRIVER'S DOOR AJAR CIRCUIT under INTERIOR LIGHTING.
- Ensure passenger's door is closed. Using scan tool, read PASS DOOR AJAR SWITCH status. If scan tool displays, PASS DOOR AJAR: OPEN, go to next step. If scan tool does not display PASS DOOR AJAR: OPEN, go to SHORTED PASSENGER'S DOOR AJAR CIRCUIT under INTERIOR LIGHTING.
- Ensure left sliding door is closed. Using scan tool, read LEFT SLIDING DOOR AJAR SWITCH status. If scan tool displays, LEFT SLIDING DOOR AJAR: OPEN, go to next step. If scan tool does not display LEFT SLIDING DOOR AJAR: OPEN, go to SHORTED LEFT SLIDING DOOR AJAR CIRCUIT under INTERIOR LIGHTING.
- Ensure right sliding door is closed. Using scan tool, read RIGHT SLIDING DOOR AJAR SWITCH status. If scan tool displays, RIGHT SLIDING DOOR AJAR: OPEN, go to next step. If scan tool does not display RIGHT SLIDING DOOR AJAR: OPEN, go to SHORTED RIGHT SLIDING DOOR AJAR CIRCUIT under INTERIOR LIGHTING.
- Ensure liftgate is closed. Using scan tool, read LIFTGATE AJAR SWITCH status. If scan tool displays, LIFTGATE DOOR AJAR: OPEN, go to next step. If scan tool does not display LIFTGATE DOOR AJAR: OPEN, go to SHORTED LIFTGATE AJAR CIRCUIT under INTERIOR LIGHTING.
- Using scan tool, read CCD BUS INFO in BCM MONITORS. Observe TPS percentage while moving throttle. If TPS percentage increases while throttle is opened, go to next step. If TPS percentage does not increase while throttle is opened, TPS is inoperative. Check TPS and TPS circuits. See SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - CARAVAN, TOWN & COUNTRY, & VOYAGER article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Repair as necessary.
- Raise and support vehicle. If vehicle is equipped with All-Wheel Drive (AWD), ensure all wheels are supported. On all models, start engine and place transmission in Drive. Using scan tool, read ENGINE INFO in BCM MONITORS and observe VSS while wheels rotate. If MPH increases when throttle is opened, system is functioning properly at this time. Fault may be intermittent. If MPH does not increase when throttle is opened, VSS is inoperative. Check VSS and VSS circuits. See SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - CARAVAN, TOWN & COUNTRY, & VOYAGER article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. Repair as necessary.
