Front Wiper Park Switch Circuit Open Or Front Wipers Not Parking In Off Position
- Turn ignition on. Operate wipers in intermittent mode. Using scan tool, monitor wiper park switch. If wiper park switch does not toggle from CLOSED to OPEN, turn wipers off and go to next step. If wiper park switch toggles from CLOSED to OPEN, system is functioning properly at this time. Fault may be intermittent.
- Turn ignition off. Access Body Control Module (BCM) connector "B". BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure
. Remove connector cover. Do not disconnect connector. Turn ignition on. Backprobing, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 41 (Dark Green/White wire) at BCM connector "B". See Figure
. Turn wiper switch to LOW speed position. Observe voltage reading. If voltage pulsates, replace BCM. If voltage does not pulsate, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Connect one end of a jumper wire to ground. Using other end of jumper wire, backprobe terminal No. 41 (Dark Green/White wire) at BCM connector "B. Disconnect wiper module connector. See Fig 1
. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Dark Green/White wire) at wiper module connector. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace wiper motor. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Dark Green/White wire between wiper module and BCM.
