Rear Wiper/Wash On Constantly

  1. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select BODY COMPUTER, MONITOR DISPLAY, and then HVAC BUS MSG. If scan tool displays REAR WIPER MSG TO BCM: OFF, go to next step. If scan tool does not display REAR WIPER MSG TO BCM: OFF, replace Body Control Module (BCM). BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure .
  2. Determine if washer motor runs for 10 seconds each time ignition switch is turned to ON position. If motor runs, replace BCM. If motor does not run, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect rear wiper motor connector. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 3 (Brown/Light Green wire) at rear wiper motor connector. If no voltage is present, replace wiper motor. If any voltage is present, go to next step.
  4. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector "B". Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 49 (Brown/Light Green wire) at BCM connector "B". See Figure . Turn ignition on. If no voltage is present, replace BCM. If any voltage is present, repair short to voltage in Brown/Light Green wire between BCM and rear wiper motor.
