Front Wiper Park Switch Circuit Shorted
- Turn ignition on. Operate wipers in intermittent mode. Using scan tool, monitor wiper park switch. If wiper park switch does not toggle from CLOSED to OPEN, turn wipers off and go to next step. If wiper park switch toggles from CLOSED to OPEN, system is functioning properly at this time. Fault may be intermittent.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect wiper module connector. See Figure . Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 2 (Dark Green/White wire) at wiper module harness connector. If voltage is 4 volts or less, go to next step. If voltage is more than 4 volts, repair short to voltage in Dark Green/White wire between wiper module and Body Control Module (BCM).
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) connector "B". BCM is located with junction block under driver's side instrument panel. See Figure . Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Dark Green/White wire) at wiper module harness connector. If resistance is less than 100 ohms, repair short to ground in Dark Green/White wire. If resistance is 100 ohms or more, replace BCM.
