Front Wipers Not Working In Low Speed Mode

  1. Turn ignition off. Remove high/low wiper relay from Power Distribution Center (PDC). PDC is located in engine compartment, next to battery. See Figure . Turn wiper switch to LOW speed position. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 86 at high/low relay socket in PDC. If resistance is less than 100 ohms, repair short to ground in White wire between PDC and multifunction switch. If resistance is 100 ohms or more, go to next step.
  2. Connect a jumper wire between terminals No. 30 and 87A at wiper high/low relay socket in PDC. Turn ignition on. Ensure wiper switch is in LOW position. If wipers operate in low speed, replace wiper high/low relay. If wipers do not operate in low speed, go to next step.
  3. Disconnect wiper module connector. See Figure . Ensure jumper wire between terminals No. 30 and 87A at wiper high/low relay socket is still connected. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 1 (Brown/White wire) at wiper module connector. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open in Brown/White wire between PDC and wiper module. If voltage is more than 10 volts, repair wiper motor.
