Driver Door Ajar Circuit Shorted

  1. Disconnect driver's door ajar switch connector from driver's door latch assembly. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, read driver's door ajar switch state. If scan tool displays DR DOOR AJAR SWITCH CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool does not display driver's door jar switch state as CLOSED, replace shorted driver door latch/ajar switch assembly. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  .
  2. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect Central Timer Module (CTM) connector C1. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . Using a DVOM, measure resistance between ground and CTM connector C1 terminal No. 1 (Black/Light Blue wire). If reading is less than 5 ohms, locate and repair short to ground in Black/Light Blue wire between CTM connector C1 and driver's door ajar switch connector. If reading is 5 ohms or more, replace CTM. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  .
