Liftgate Ajar Circuit Shorted (Durango)

  1. Remove liftgate panel. Disconnect liftgate ajar switch connector. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Using scan tool, read liftgate ajar switch state. If scan tool displays LIFTGATE AJAR SWITCH CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool does not display LIFTGATE AJAR SWITCH OPEN, replace liftgate ajar switch. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  .
  2. Turn ignition switch to ON position. Disconnect Central Timer Module (CTM) connector C2. See COMPONENT LOCATIONS  . Using a DVOM, measure resistance between ground and CTM connector C2 terminal No. 15 (Tan/Black wire). If reading is less than 5 ohms, locate and repair short to ground in Tan/Black wire. If reading is 5 ohms or more, replace CTM. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  .
