DTC P0461: Fuel Level Unit No Change Over Time
NOTE:
Fuel level unit may also be referred to as fuel level sensor or fuel level sending unit. Fuel level unit no change over time is monitored when ignition is on and battery voltage is more than 10.4 volts. DTC may be stored in Powertrain Control Module (PCM) when fuel level sensor voltage at PCM remains 9.56-9.90 volts for more than 255 seconds. Possible causes are: defective fuel level sensor, damaged or obstructed fuel tank.
Release fuel pressure. See FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE . Remove fuel tank. Remove fuel pump module from fuel tank. Fuel pump module is located on top of fuel tank and contains fuel level sensor, fuel pump and fuel supply line fittings. Fuel pump module may also be referred to as fuel tank module. Inspect fuel tank for damage or obstructions which would cause problems with operation of fuel level sensor. If fuel tank is not damaged or obstructed, replace fuel level sensor. Perform TEST VER-2 . If fuel tank is damaged or obstructed, repair or replace fuel tank as necessary. Perform TEST VER-2 .
