Data Link Connector (DLC)

Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) are accessed through a 16-pin DLC using Chrysler's Diagnostic Readout Box (DRBIII®) scan tool or a generic scan tool. DLC provides an input signal to Powertrain Control Module (PCM) via the Serial Communications Interface (SCI) transmit circuit when using scan tool to retrieve DTCs from PCM via the SCI receive circuit. DLC input signal is also used by PCM when performing various tests on electronic control system. DLC communicates with other modules via the CCD bus circuit. See CCD BUS CIRCUIT .
