System Tests: Notes
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2000 Dodge Ram Wagon and 2000 Dodge Ram Van. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
CAUTION:
When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See
COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
NOTE:
Unless instructed otherwise in test step, DO NOT use a test light in place of a voltmeter. Always disconnect scan tool before charging battery. Always perform appropriate verification test after repairs are made. See VERIFICATION TESTS .
NOTE:
System tests are written specifically for Chrysler's Diagnostic Readout Box (DRBIII®) scan tool. A generic scan tool may not be capable of performing all necessary functions. DRBIII® scan tool is grounded through Data Link Connector (DLC). Only one DRBIII® scan tool lead is required for resistance and voltage checks performed at connector terminals. Unless instructed otherwise in test step, use scan tool for resistance and voltage checks.
