Repairing "SC" In CMTC Display
NOTE:
After repairs for any Ambient Temperature Sensor (ATS) problem, vehicle must be driven continuously more than 3 miles at speeds greater than 25 MPH in order to update Overhead Traveler Information System (OTIS) display.
- Connect scan tool to Diagnostic Line Connector (DLC). Disconnect Ambient Temperature Sensor (ATS) connector. Observe Compass Mini Trip Computer (CMTC) display on scan tool. If CMTC displays OC, replace ATS. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST . If CMTC does not display OC, go to next step.
- Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Disconnect CMTC connector. Using DVOM, measure resistance between ground and ATS harness connector Violet/Light Green wire terminal. If reading is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Violet/Light Green wire between CMTC module and ATS. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST . If reading is 5 ohms or more, go to next step.
- Measure resistance between CMTC harness connector Black/Light Blue wire and Violet/Light Green wire terminals. If reading is less than 5 ohms, repair short between Black/Light Blue wire and Violet/Light Green wire. If reading is 1000 ohms or more, replace CMTC module. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
