Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) Problem

  1. Measure voltage of batteries in Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter. If reading is 3 volts or more, go to next step. If reading is less than 3 volts, replace RKE transmitter batteries and retest.
NOTE: The following procedure requires all RKE transmitters for vehicle are present. Always verify all RKE transmitters are operational after programming is completed.
  2. Using scan tool select THEFT ALARM, then VTSS, then MISCELLANEOUS, then PROGRAM RKE. Follow scan tool display prompts to program RKE transmitter(s) as necessary. Exit PROGRAM RKE. Activate door locks using RKE transmitter(s). If door locks respond to all RKE transmitter commands, system is okay. If door locks remain inoperative using one or all RKE transmitters, go to next step.
  3. Secure a known-good RKE transmitter. Repeat step  2 . If RKE transmitter commands actuate door locks, replace RKE transmitter(s) as necessary. If door locks remain inoperative, replace Central Timer Module (CTM). Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  .
