Passenger Door Central Lock (Arm)/Unlock (Disarm) Switch Failure
- Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, clear Body Control Module (BCM) Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Using key in passenger's door, lock and unlock vehicle several times. Using scan tool, retrieve BCM DTCs. If this DTC resets, go to next step. If this DTC does not reset, problem is intermittent.
- Turn ignition off. Using key in passenger's door, lock and unlock vehicle several times. If key is not binding in any position, go to next step. If key is binding in any position, repair or replace passenger's door lock cylinder as necessary.
- Disconnect passenger's door cylinder lock switch harness connector. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, check passenger's door disarm switch voltage. If any voltage is displayed, go to next step. If no voltage is displayed, replace passenger's door cylinder lock switch.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect BCM harness connector C4. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage at terminal No. 3 (Dark Green/Orange wire) at BCM harness connector C4. See Figure . If no voltage exists, replace BCM. If any voltage exists, repair short to voltage in Dark Green/Orange wire between driver's door cylinder lock switch and BCM.
