Cirrus, Concorde, Intrepid, LHS, Sebring Convertible, Stratus & 300M (V6)
- Remove fuel pump relay from relay Power Distribution Center (PDC). For relay location, check label on underside of PDC cover. Start and run engine until it stalls. Attempt to start engine until it no longer runs. Turn ignition switch to OFF position.
- Place a rag or towel below quick-connect fitting at fuel rail. Reinstall fuel pump relay into PDC. One or more Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) may be stored in PCM memory due to fuel pump relay removal. Clear DTCs with scan tool.
NOTE:
Procedures in step 1
should be performed to release high fuel system pressure from fuel rail. DO NOT attempt to use the following procedure to release high fuel system pressure, as excessive fuel may be forced into engine cylinder.
