If vehicle is equipped with Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM), secret key data must be updated to enable starting. See PROGRAMMING in ANTI-THEFT SYSTEMS - CONCORDE, INTREPID, LHS & 300M article.
  6. For ABS and air bag systems, enter correct VIN and mileage in PCM. Erase DTCs in ABS and air bag modules. Inspect vehicle to ensure that all engine components are connected. Reassemble and connect components as necessary.
  7. For SKIM alarm, connect scan tool to DLC and go to THEFT ALARM, SKIM, MISC on scan tool and place SKIM in secured access mode by using appropriate PIN code for this vehicle. See PROGRAMMING in ANTI-THEFT SYSTEMS - CONCORDE, INTREPID, LHS & 300M article. Select UPDATE SECRET KEY DATA. Data will be transferred from SKIM to PCM.
  8. Drive vehicle for at least 5 minutes. Accelerate to at least 40 MPH. Stop and turn engine off for 10 seconds. Restart vehicle and continue. Ensure transmission shifts through all gears.
  9. After completion of road test, turn engine off. Using scan tool, read DTCs. If any DTCs exist, go to appropriate diagnosis and repair procedure under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS . If there are no DTCs, repair was successful and is now complete.
