Chime Sounds With Driver's Door Open (Ignition Key Removed)

  1. Ensure all exterior lights are off. Remove key from ignition switch. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, monitor key-in ignition status. If CLOSED is displayed, go to next step. If CLOSED is not displayed, replace Body Control Module (BCM).
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect ignition switch harness connector. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, monitor key-in ignition status. If CLOSED is displayed, go to next step. If CLOSED is not displayed, replace ignition switch.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect BCM harness connector C2. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 24 (Light Blue wire) at BCM harness connector C2. See Figure . If resistance is greater than 100 ohms, replace BCM. If resistance is 100 ohms or less, repair short to ground in Light Blue wire between ignition switch and BCM.
