Courtesy Lights Inoperative With Passenger's Door Open

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect passenger's door lock motor/ajar switch harness connector. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 2 (Black wire) at passenger's door lock motor/ajar switch harness connector. See Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire between passenger's door lock motor/ajar switch and ground.
  2. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) harness connector C4. Measure resistance in Tan/Red wire between terminal No. 1 at passenger's door lock motor/ajar switch harness connector and terminal No. 1 at BCM harness connector C4. See Figure and Figure . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Tan/Red wire between passenger's door lock motor/ajar switch and BCM.
  3. Connect passenger's door lock motor/ajar switch harness connector. Open passenger's door. Measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 1 (Tan/Red wire) at BCM harness connector C4. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace BCM. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace passenger's door lock motor/ajar switch.
