Head Status RX Failure

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.

Possible Causes:

Testing

  1. Turn ignition on. With the scan tool, read the BCM DTC's. If the head status RX failure code set, see COMMUNICATIONS  for the appropriate symptom. If the code did not set, go to next step.
  2. With the scan tool, erase the ATC head DTC's. Cycle the ignition switch from OFF to ON position. With the scan tool, read the ATC head DTC's. If the head status failure code sets, replace the automatic temperature control head. See AUTOMATIC A/C-HEATER SYSTEMS - CONCORDE, INTREPID & 300M article in HVAC. If the code does not set, see WIRING DIAGRAMS  for possible intermittent wiring problem.
