VTSS Indicator Fails To Flash

NOTE: After making any repairs, perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. Unless instructed otherwise in test step, reconnect any disconnected connectors.
  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module connector. Connect a jumper wire between ground and RKE module connector terminal No. 17, Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) indicator driver circuit (Black/Orange wire). See Figure. If VTSS indicator illuminates, replace RKE module. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY (RKE) MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If VTSS indicator does not illuminate, leave RKE module connector disconnected and go to next step.
  2. Disconnect instrument cluster connector. Instrument cluster connector is a 26-pin Black connector, located behind left upper instrument panel. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance of VTSS indicator circuit (Black/Orange wire) between RKE module connector terminal No. 17 and instrument cluster connector terminal No. 5. See Figure and Figure . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, perform ANY LED INDICATOR FAILS SELF-TEST  under INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open Black/Orange wire.
