Programming Remote Keyless Entry Transmitter Without Scan Tool

  1. Turn ignition on. Using a programmed RKE transmitter, press and hold RKE transmitter UNLOCK button for 4-10 seconds. While pressing UNLOCK button, press PANIC button. Release both UNLOCK and PANIC buttons. A chime will sound to indicate RKE has entered programming mode.
  2. On Dakota, within 30 seconds, press LOCK or UNLOCK button on each transmitter to be programmed (except transmitter used to initiate programming procedure). Programming is successful when single chime is heard. To exit programming mode, turn ignition off.
  3. On Durango, within 30 seconds, press both LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on transmitter to be programmed (except transmitter used to initiate programming procedure). Release LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on transmitter when single chime is heard. Press LOCK or UNLOCK button on transmitter to verify programming is successful. Repeat programming procedure for remaining transmitters (up to a total of 4) while in programming mode. To exit programming mode, turn ignition off.
