Automatic (Rolling) Door Locks Inoperative

  1. Ensure all doors are closed. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC), under lower left side of instrument panel. Using scan tool, select BODY COMPUTER, then INPUT/OUTPUT. Observe status of all DOOR AJAR parameters. If scan tool displays CLOSED for any door ajar parameter, perform appropriate door ajar circuit shorted test under DOOR AJAR SYSTEM. See SYMPTOM IDENTIFICATION  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If scan tool does not display CLOSED for any door ajar parameter, go to next step.
  2. Using scan tool, observe ENGINE DTCS. If scan tool displays any TPS or VSS related DTCs, diagnose those first. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If scan tool does not display any TPS or VSS related DTCs, go to next step.
  3. Using scan tool, select BODY COMPUTER, then MISCELLANEOUS. Observe status of AUTO DOOR LOCKS parameter. If scan tool displays AUTO DOOR LOCKS: ENABLED, go to next step. If scan tool does not display AUTO DOOR LOCKS: ENABLED, enable auto door locks using scan tool.
  4. Replace CTM. See CENTRAL TIMER MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
