Remote Keyless Entry Problem

  1. Remove batteries from Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter. Using DVOM, measure voltage of transmitter batteries. If all transmitter batteries are 3.0 volts or more, go to next step. Replace any transmitter battery that is less than 3.0 volts.
  2. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC), under lower left side of instrument panel. Using scan tool, select BODY, BODY COMPUTER, MISCELLANEOUS, then RKE FOB TEST. Follow prompts on scan tool. If RKE transmitter passes FOB TEST, go to next step. If RKE transmitter does not pass FOB TEST, replace faulty transmitter and reprogram all transmitters. See REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY TRANSMITTER  under PROGRAMMING.
  3. Using scan tool, select BODY, BODY COMPUTER, MISCELLANEOUS, then PROGRAM RKE. Follow prompts on scan tool to program transmitter. Operate door locks using transmitter. If door locks respond to transmitter commands, program any other transmitters used for this vehicle. If door locks do not respond to transmitter commands, replace CTM. See CENTRAL TIMER MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
