VTSS Will Not Arm

  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC), under lower left side of instrument panel. Using scan tool, select THEFT ALARM. If scan tool displays THEFT ALARM as ENABLED, go to next step. If scan tool does not display THEFT ALARM as ENABLED, enable Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) using scan tool.
  2. Ensure all doors are closed. Using scan tool, observe status of all DOOR AJAR SW parameters. If scan tool displays any DOOR AJAR SW parameter as CLOSED, repair appropriate door ajar switch as necessary or perform appropriate test under DOOR AJAR SYSTEM. See SYMPTOM IDENTIFICATION  table under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If scan tool does not display any DOOR AJAR SW parameters as CLOSED, replace CTM. See CENTRAL TIMER MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
