Body Verification Test

  1. Reconnect all previously disconnected components and connectors. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). If any Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) system actuators/circuits were repaired/replaced, HVAC door recalibration will need to be performed. Using scan tool, select HVAC, SYSTEM TESTS, then HVAC DOOR RECALIBRATION.
  2. If Sentry Key Immobilizer Module (SKIM) or Powertrain Control Module (PCM) was replaced, go to step  5 . If SKIM or PCM was not replaced, go to next step.
  3. If Central Timer Module (CTM) was replaced, turn ignition on for 15 seconds to learn Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). If vehicle is equipped with Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS), use scan tool to enable VTSS.
  4. Program all RKE transmitters and other options as necessary. See PROGRAMMING  . Go to step  6 .
  5. Obtain vehicle's unique Personal Identification Number (PIN) assigned to SKIM from vehicle owner or manufacturer. Using scan tool, select THEFT ALARM, SKIM, MISCELLANEOUS, then SKIM REPLACED. Enter secured access mode by entering the vehicle 4-digit PIN. Using scan tool, program all customer's keys into SKIM memory. If PCM was replaced, VIN and unique secret key data must be transferred from SKIM to PCM.
  6. Ensure all accessories are turned off and battery is fully charged. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, erase DTCs from all modules. Start engine. Allow engine to run 2 minutes. Fully operate system that was malfunctioning.
  7. Turn ignition off. Wait 5 seconds. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, read DTCs from all modules. If scan tool shows any stored DTCs, see DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE IDENTIFICATION  and SYMPTOM IDENTIFICATION  tables under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If scan tool does not show any stored DTCs and customer's concern can no longer be duplicated, repair is complete.
